With over 11 years professional training experience in both group and private instruction,
we are positive reinforcement and
clicker training-based trainers.
This method is a gentle, easy, and effective way to train your dog. The clicker makes a click that your dog learns to associate with
food. Your dog learns that the “click” equals a treat for the correct behavior. Because the timing of the click is so important, your
dog learns faster and more consistently than just using verbal praise. A clicker gets the dog to focus on making you “click” and gets
their attention off of food.
A clicker is not a lifetime device! Once your dog learns the behavior, we wean you off of the clicker,
and your dog is left with knowing both verbal and hand signals. A clicker makes a dog THINK - gone are the days of forcing a dog to
do something and punishing them when they don’t understand . Dogs were bred to work for and with us; and the clicker gets their
mind, body, and soul to happily obey.
If you would rather not use a clicker in class,
you are still welcome to attend and use positive reinforcement. However, we will not
allow any harsh physical corrections in class. There are many different ways to train, and we want the kindest option for your dog!

Group classes have many benefits and are strongly recommended for puppies and most dogs.
Because our facility is small, we limit our class sizes and offer an instructor-student ratio of 1:4 or 1:6, providing your family with as much
individual attention as possible. Group classes also offer socialization with other people and dogs, cover a broad range of topics and
behaviors, are more economical than private instruction, and teach you to work your dog with distractions. You form a strong support
system with your classmates and your dog will go home happy and tired! Your dog must be friendly with other people and dogs in order to
participate in group classes. If you don't think that your dog will be a good fit in group classes,
