Polite Owners:
- always clean up after their dogs
- train their dogs to be good neighbors
- keep their dogs leashed in on-leash areas
- train their dogs to come when called in off-leash areas
- respect town's bylaws regarding dogs
- understand that not everyone loves dogs, and respect people's space and belongings
- understand that not all dogs like to socialize, and keep their dogs away from a nervous / fearful dog
- teach their dogs to be polite to strangers, delivery people, and neighbors
- keep their dogs well-groomed and clean
- are wonderful to have as neighbors
- Polite Dogs:
- obey commands you give
- are polite around food, toys, and possessions
- do not jump on people
- do not run your household
- understand that humans are in charge
- come when they are called
- do not pull on the leash, and walk politely around other people, dogs, and in traffic
- are polite to have as neighbors
- don't chew on items unless they are dog chews or toys
- do not bark endlessly
- do not act aggressively toward other dogs
- love their owners for telling them how to behave
- are wonderful to have as pets
